OGVECC is a locally owned, independent emergency and critical care veterinary hospital—co-owned by a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) and a board-certified veterinary emergency and critical care specialist. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as a key provider of emergency and ICU care.
As an Emergency & Critical Care LVT, you will be responsible for triaging urgent cases, providing direct ICU care to hospitalized patients, and supporting veterinarians in delivering life-saving treatments. You will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care, accurate medical documentation, and compassionate client communication.
This position requires a strong foundation in emergency procedures, patient monitoring, and nursing care, as well as the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Duties
- Rapidly triage incoming emergency patients and communicate findings to the clinical team
- Provide high-level nursing care to critical inpatients, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, fluid therapy, transfusion medicine and nutritional support
- Perform diagnostics such as bloodwork, urinalysis, ECG, radiographs, and more
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Communicate empathetically and clearly with pet owners and team members
- Assist veterinarians in developing and executing treatment plans
- Participate in shift rounds and hand-offs to ensure continuity of care
- Support and mentor veterinary assistants and new team members
Requirements
- At least 1–2 years of experience in an emergency or specialty hospital preferred (new grads with ER experience or internships encouraged to apply)
- Strong patient care, technical, and communication skills
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
- Team-oriented mindset with a desire to contribute to a collaborative culture
