Patient Escort – Houston, TX

Patient Escort Compensation:

Pay rate: $16.00 per hour

Benefits available after 90 days for full-time employees

401(k) with company match available for full-time employees after 1 year of service
Patient Escort Highlights:
-
Contract position with potential for extension or permanent hire

Shift times vary, including rotating weekends and some holidays
-
Must be flexible and available to work at different MD Anderson locations

Parking is at the contractor's expense; multiple parking garages and lots available
Patient Escort Responsibilities:
-
Escort hospital and ambulatory patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hydraulic stretchers

Complete Daily Disinfection Tracking Log for each patient transported
-
Sanitize wheelchairs following the Wheelchair High-Touch Disinfection/Inspection Protocol
-
Assist patients safely on and off wheelchairs following Equipment Checklist
-
Provide professional and courteous service, ensuring excellent customer experience
-
Navigate hospital campus independently and follow directions effectively
-
Must be able to push up to 250 lbs in a wheelchair or stretcher
Patient Escort Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
1 year of patient care experience and/or heavy customer service experience
-
Must be able to stand for extended periods and transport patients undergoing intensive treatments
-
Compassionate demeanor, strong communication skills, and ability to follow directions at all times
-
Attendance and punctuality are critical
Patient Escort Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Strong customer service skills
Dress Code:

Required: Light blue polo, black scrub bottoms or black business casual pants with belt loops, black belt, black/white socks, non-skid sole shoes

Optional: Black long-sleeved shirt (must be tucked in)

Not Allowed: Denim, leggings, joggers, hooded jackets, artificial nails, or eyelashes
