Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A retail/outpatient hospital pharmacy is seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to provide consistent support on a per diem basis. This role is ideal for someone who prefers part-time, PRN hours with a flexible schedule and wants to contribute to a dynamic pharmacy team located in Greensburg, IN, southeast of Indianapolis.
The ideal candidate will fill a critical need for a PRN technician, offering steady and predictable hours approximately 2-3 days every two weeks. The schedule is flexible to accommodate your availability, typically during first shift hours ranging from 9 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision, including measuring, mixing, labeling, and recording dosages
- Type, adjudicate, and file new and refill prescriptions, navigating insurance claims and handling rejected claims efficiently
- Manage inventory by removing outdated medications and processing uncollected prescriptions
- Perform cashier duties, balance the register, answer phones, and assist customers with over-the-counter purchases
- Provide excellent customer service while supporting pharmacy operations and communication tasks
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Indiana with active certification preferred (PTCB preferred)
- Recent hands-on pharmacy technician experience, preferably with retail or outpatient settings
- Familiarity with pharmacy systems preferred (PioneerRX experience a plus, but training is available)
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Dependable with flexible availability to meet scheduling needs
