Job Description📦 Material Handler – 1st Shift (Mon–Thurs) | Fast‑Paced Metal Fabrication Environment

Support a high‑performing welding and fabrication operation by picking, staging, and moving materials with accuracy and urgency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment and takes pride in keeping production running smoothly.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • Pick and stage materials from indoor and outdoor warehouse locations to support the welding department
  • Retrieve sheet metal and other materials based on production requirements
  • Verify incoming and outgoing loads including shippers, logs, and bills of lading
  • Use ERP systems (Epicor or similar) to analyze BOMs and methods for accurate staging
  • Maintain inventory accuracy using RF scanners and desktop computers
  • Operate a sit‑down forklift safely for most material movements
  • Read blueprints and work instructions to verify correct parts before picking
  • Support shipping and receiving including order selection, packaging, and material handling
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are available to meet schedules

📌 Essential Skills

  • 2+ years sit‑down forklift experience in warehouse or manufacturing
  • 1+ year ERP experience (Epicor, SAP, or similar)
  • Shipping & receiving knowledge including load verification
  • Order picking & material handling in a production environment
  • RF scanner & computer proficiency
  • Blueprint reading ability
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift
  • Comfortable working around moving machinery and following safety protocols

  • 2+ years order picking experience
  • Manufacturing or OEM logistics experience
  • Epicor/SAP proficiency

🏭 Work Environment

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (4‑day workweek!)
  • OEM metal fabrication shop with moderate to high noise levels
  • Frequent lifting (50+ lbs), standing, and walking
  • Use of sit‑down forklifts, RF scanners, computers, and ERP systems
  • Safety glasses required; strict adherence to all safety procedures

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
