American Traveler is hiring an X-Ray Technologist with surgery experience and ARRT certification for 10-hour shifts involving surgical imaging.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position based in a hospital setting
- 4x10 hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM, may vary by an hour
- Every other weekend shift required from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Role involves working in surgery and using GE equipment
- Minimal call before or after shift may be needed to cover high volume or call-offs
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Patient care and imaging in surgical and general radiology procedures
- Duties include operating radiology equipment, performing diagnostic and surgical radiographic procedures, and ensuring radiation safety
- Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed and study guides provided
- Responsible for patient positioning, documentation, and assisting practitioners with fluoroscopy and specialized procedures
- May require travel to nearby off-site locations
- Will collaborate with physicians, technologists, and hospital staff
- Exposure to high stress, fluctuating workloads, noise levels, and potentially infectious materials may occur
- Must adhere to appropriate aseptic and radiation safety techniques
- Required to document patient dose exposures and complete procedure documentation as per policy
- Scrub or dress code policies will apply
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Certification and registration with ARRT required
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association required prior to direct patient care
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred
- Proficient surgery experience required
- Familiarity with GE equipment required
- Experience with Epic EMR and PACS preferred
- Experience with Radiology Information System preferred
- State licensure preferred unless required by local law
- License required if applicable
