Construction Manager - Solar Power Generation
Contract Position | $58/hour | 12 Months | Belen, New Mexico
Overview
Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee utility-scale solar project construction from Notice-to-Proceed to Commercial Operation Date. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead major infrastructure projects in the rapidly growing solar energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage construction work performed by EPC contractors and vendors
- Review agreements, contracts, and permits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Oversee system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities
- Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and budget
- Conduct site audits and participate in safety meetings to maintain high safety standards
- Interface with utilities and project stakeholders as primary point of contact
- Review and approve RFIs, scope deviation notices, and construction status reports
- Support project commissioning and close-out activities
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6-10 years of experience in power plant commissioning or construction management
- Experience working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers
- Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power generation
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work on-site in Belen, New Mexico
