Overview
As a Lead Technician Advisor, your primary role is to provide expert guidance and support to technicians on the production line. You are responsible for answering questions, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring that the team maintains the highest standards of quality and efficiency. As a leader, you are committed to fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, empowering technicians with the knowledge and resources they need to excel in their roles. The goal is to facilitate seamless operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive 15 min before the shift starts engaged and on the lines.
- Monitor hits on line 1-4 to ensure daily hits are completed before tech starts daily SOS.
- Ensure that the lighting system on each station is being used properly and issues are being resolved as quickly as possible as lights are being turned on.
- Recognize assembly issues that need to be resolved and create documents per model to track progress.
- All emails are answered before leaving each day, if you cannot provide answers to your emails, provide follow-up as quickly as possible.
- Provide red tag support for the line and management with accurate data.
- Manage station sweeps with techs at all rotations to make sure this is performed properly with accurate data.
- Provide end-of-day cleanup support in each station and instruct techs what and how to organize their station for major items that need attention.
- Show leadership as senior technician including coaching, mentorship, training, and being a good example of what good looks like for Velocity.
- Velocity polos/proper branded uniform worn at all times.
- Provide clear communication between engineers, managers and directors on any process changes and the changes have been approved before proceeding with production
- Offer guidance to hit list and Test and Tune techs on repairs or upgrades
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and reliable daily transportation.
- At least one lead technician must be available to work every Friday; during holiday weeks requiring full staff, both lead technicians are expected to work.
- Attendance at Friday meetings is mandatory, even on your scheduled Friday off, when such meetings are scheduled.
- Availability is required to provide full support to production after hours as needed, based on production demands.
- If carpooling, it is your responsibility to adhere to scheduling requirements, ensuring transportation arrangements do not conflict with your duties.
- Adhere to all health regulations and utilize all safety equipment.
- Ability to maintain positive, professional communications with managers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
Education Background and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license with good driving record
- 5+ years in a well-rounded, automotive role
Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.
- Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
- Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
- Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
- Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.
- Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
- Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.
- Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
- Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
- Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
- Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
- Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
