Job SummaryThe Executive Sous Chef leads the culinary operations across a two‑building corporate dining program. This account delivers Monday–Friday lunch service with meals produced by the commissary and finished, plated, and executed on‑site. Each building also features a coffee bar, with the culinary team supporting quality, consistency, and smooth service flow. The Executive Sous Chef oversees production, finishing, presentation, team development, and kitchen organization while ensuring a safe, efficient, and hospitality‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full compliance with sanitation standards, ServSafe/HACCP guidelines, safety procedures, and production requirements
- Lead, coach, and develop back‑of‑house team members to create a collaborative, learning‑focused kitchen culture
- Ensure all commissary‑prepared items are finished, plated, and presented at a high standard across both buildings
- Assist with menu execution, planning, prep lists, daily production management, and inventory processes
- Contribute to cost control efforts, including product usage, portioning, and waste management
- Partner with culinary and marketing teams to introduce new culinary programs and seasonal offerings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, modeling best practices and consistency
- Support culinary execution for both lunch services and collaborate with coffee bar teams as needed
- Perform additional duties and support operational needs as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Hands‑on culinary experience in high‑volume or multi‑station environments
- Ability to manage production and finishing for commissary‑driven foodservice programs
- Strong understanding of food costing, inventory practices, and kitchen workflow
- Flexibility and creativity to adapt quickly, problem‑solve, and maintain quality under time constraints
- Skill in coaching and supporting back‑of‑house teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and steady leadership style
- Working knowledge of food safety standards, ServSafe, and HACCP procedures
- Familiarity with current culinary trends, plating techniques, and presentation styles
- Culinary degree or professional training is helpful, though equivalent experience is also valued
