We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to ensure compliance with environmental regulations across our data center and infrastructure projects. This role requires expertise in local, state, and federal environmental laws, with hands-on experience in air permitting, water regulations, and vetting requirements for specific project types. The Environmental Specialist will support our Site Delivery and OR/CM (Owner's Rep/Construction Management) teams, ensuring environmental compliance is integrated throughout project planning and execution.

What you'll do…
- Ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including air permitting, water quality, and waste management.
- Review and vet regulatory requirements specific to project types (e.g., data centers, infrastructure builds) and advise project teams on compliance strategies.
- Support permitting processes, preparing documentation and liaising with regulatory agencies as needed.
- Monitor environmental performance across projects, identifying risks and recommending mitigation measures.
- Collaborate closely with construction managers, engineers, and clients to integrate compliance requirements into project workflows.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on environmental standards and best practices.
- Document compliance processes, prepare reports, and maintain regulatory records for audits and reviews.
- Stay current with evolving environmental laws and regulations, proactively updating internal processes
You should have...
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or regulatory affairs, ideally in construction or mission-critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience with air permitting, water regulations, and local compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of federal environmental regulations (EPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act) and state/local requirements.
- Skilled in regulatory research, permitting processes, and compliance documentation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting environmental compliance in large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
- Prior experience liaising with environmental regulators or government agencies.
- Familiarity with sustainability programs, ESG reporting, or LEED certifications.
- Knowledge of environmental risk assessment and mitigation practices.
