COMMERCIAL MOVING PROJECT MANAGER
The Commercial Moving Project Managers (“PM”) are vital to a successful commercial relocation. They are responsible for the planning and execution of commercial moves. This position will also act as an onsite leader and point of contact for commercial moves. Project Managers work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to execute project requirements to maintain CHC quality standards while meeting key client deadlines and budgets; by motivating the team and actively managing the staff assigned to key CHC jobs.
Position Responsibilities
- Communicate with Sales team to review scope of job
- Point of contact between client and sales once the project has started
- Delegate the relocation duties to all team members according to their job descriptions.
- Set up project timeline to ensure all parties (movers, drivers, third party services, IT crews, etc.) can execute their duties in a streamlined manner
- Communicates with the project destination/origin supervisors and teams throughout project to ensure job efficiency
- Uphold a positive attitude, be a model of professionalism, and observe all applicable company policies.
- Help train and lead team by relevant examples while maintaining safety procedures.
- Maintain clear communication with the operations team – notifying dispatch of any additional job assignments/instructions, unexpected delays, or equipment left on the job site, etc.
- Communicate with Sales and Operations to keep the project aligned with their stated goals.
- Planning, staging, and setup workstations according to blueprints/layout plans.
- Actively assist moving crew with all project related tasks – moving, pushing, carrying, etc.
- Complete daily project paperwork – obtaining customer signatures upon project completion, accurately reporting crew hours, and tracking/recording all equipment used, brought back, and/or left on the job site. Provide completion updates to sales team with pictures.
- Complete all other required paperwork such as drivers’ logbooks, drivers’ timecards, monthly reports, receipts, and/or accident reports if applicable.
- Create projects in accounting/project tracking software and updates projects throughout the job.
- Budget planning; including keeping track of all expenditures through each project.
- Attend weekly operations meetings
- Conducting ongoing safety inspections on jobsites.
- Assist Operations in performing employee reviews.
- Meets with accounts receivable to clarify scope of some jobs for billing process.
- Estimating small projects for sales team (Filling out cube sheets)
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds with a team
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Need to have a flexible schedule – work during office hours as well as occasional evenings, weekends, and out of town work.
- Must be able to travel throughout the United States for any length of time and may be last minute.
- High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
- Prior industry related experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office skills; use of e-mails, expense reports, attend web-based meetings, sales tracking software knowledge, and create some presentations.
- PMP Certification is a plus
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Experience as a Commercial Driver or able to drive a company vehicle is a preferred.
- Knowledge of blueprint/plan reading
- Commercial Installer experience is a plus
- Strong Customer service skills
- Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills
