Job SummaryThe Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the professional face of our healthcare organization, drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. The PSR II fosters an environment of trust while clearly explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and strictly following clinical protocols. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with an emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on schedule under supervision.
- Maintain a safe and professional clinical environment.
- Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection per protocol.
- Verify and label specimens in patient presence to ensure correctness.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Promote a positive, professional image to patients, clients, and coworkers.
Required Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable in high-volume environments with multiple priorities.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- At least two (2) years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service setting.
- Keyboard and data entry familiarity.
Required Skills
- Excellent phlebotomy skills for all age groups.
- Strong decision-making based on established procedures.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic).
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere).
Additional Skills
- Ability to adapt to different training locations.
- High attention to confidentiality, accuracy, and organizational values.
- Capable of supporting multiple patient service locations on short notice.
