Job Summary

The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic vascular and echocardiographic ultrasound examinations. This role supports physicians by producing accurate imaging, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining equipment and documentation standards across outpatient clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vascular ultrasound and echocardiographic examinations as ordered

• Operate ultrasound and echo equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images

• Prepare and position patients for examinations while ensuring comfort and safety

• Accurately document studies and findings in the electronic health record system

• Travel between multiple outpatient locations as needed

• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment

• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff

• Adhere to departmental protocols, quality standards, and safety guidelines

• Support workflow efficiency in a fast-paced clinical environment

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Completion of an approved Echocardiography or Vascular Ultrasound Training Program

• Certifications:

  • ARDMS registered in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS) OR

  • CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in vascular and/or echocardiography ultrasound

• Familiarity with Philips ultrasound systems (e.g., CX50, Affiniti)

• Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems

• Strong patient-focused communication and interpersonal skills
