Job DescriptionPosition: Phlebotomist (Contract)
Location: Jamaica, NY 11432
Duration: 7 Weeks
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation:
- Local Pay: $23 – $26/hour
- Travel Pay: $26 – $31/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to perform blood collection procedures for diagnostic testing, transfusions, donations, and research. The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety, specimen accuracy, and proper handling of samples in a clinical or laboratory setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of specimens
- Maintain proper handling, processing, and transportation of samples
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient records
- Collaborate with healthcare and laboratory staff
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, commercial lab, or blood bank
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program
Certifications:
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) – required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of specimen handling and safety protocols
