Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to take a hands-on leadership role in our outpatient surgery center and clinic. The ideal candidate has strong experience in PACU, OR circulation, and a solid understanding of AAAASF and Medicare compliance. This is an active clinical role working directly with Dr. Ronan as his primary nursing support during pre-operative and post-operative visits, while also guiding patients throughout their surgical journey.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership & Team Oversight
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the surgery center nursing team
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and workflow coordination
- Collaborate with the Medical and Practice Directors to streamline clinical operations and drive excellence
- Help foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment
Direct Patient Care & Surgical Support
- See patients with Dr. Ronan and serve as his primary nursing support during pre-operative and post-operative visits
- Act as a consistent point of contact for surgical patients, ensuring continuity of care throughout their journey
- Conduct thorough pre-op assessments and prepare patients for surgery
- Circulate in the operating room and provide clinical support during procedures
- Oversee patient recovery in the PACU, including pain management and discharge instructions
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain strict adherence to AAAASF and Medicare standards for outpatient surgery centers
- Assist with internal audits, inspections, and accreditation readiness
- Support clinical documentation accuracy, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
Patient Advocacy & Care Coordination
- Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout all phases of care
- Provide timely post-op follow-up, education, and support to patients and their families
- Be available for after-hours clinical concerns or urgent patient needs as appropriate
- Take urgent after-hours calls, triage patient needs, and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
- Collaborate closely with the plastic surgeon and nursing team to ensure timely and appropriate interventions
Qualifications:
- Active NP license in the state of California
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an outpatient surgical setting (plastic surgery experience preferred)
- Strong background in PACU, OR circulation, and surgical nursing care
- Familiarity with AAAASF and Medicare regulatory standards
- Exceptional communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills
- Experience with aesthetic treatments (e.g., injectables, laser) is a plus but not required
