What You'll Do:

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs that align with MedStar Health's mission and SPIRIT Values.
  • Utilize innovative teaching techniques to promote critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
  • Coach and mentor nursing staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance their professional journey.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create relevant learning programs.
  • Conduct educational activities that facilitate the adoption of new procedures and technologies.
  • Design and evaluate educational programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our nursing associates.
  • Identify learning needs and knowledge gaps, working closely with unit leaders to promote competent patient care.
  • Support the transition of newly licensed nurses through our New to Practice Nurse Residency Program.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary quality improvement teams and community outreach efforts.

Your Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A Master's degree in Clinical Nursing, Nursing Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of progressive clinical nursing experience; staff development or continuing education experience is a plus.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Current RN licensure in Maryland or a Compact State.
    • CPR certification (BLS and NRP) from AHA or American Red Cross within 90 days.
    • Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department.
  • Skills:
    • High level of clinical competence.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Basic math and computer skills.
