This position is on-site, located in Winston Salem, NC. This is not a remote or hybrid opportunity.
Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the Human Resource needs of front-line employees and managers are met in a timely manner. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring payroll and benefits are managed and administered regarding compliance with regulations to all state and federal guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage payroll runs for 2 company accounts: weekly and bi-weekly.
- Ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees, this includes working with Human Resources Manager and site managers regarding any payroll changes and updates.
- Assist Human Resources Manager regarding benefits program. Reviews program needs and makes recommendations to Human Resources Manager regarding benefits structure and updates. Administers employee programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans.
- Manages deductions, such as taxes, social security, pension, and other benefits – medical, dental, vision, disability, reviewing and approving vendor billing and postings.
- Support audits by proving necessary documentation and ensuring payroll processes meet audit and control standards
- Assist in year-end process – annual tax forms, reconciliation of payroll accounts, assist with year end financial close.
- Partners with Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Project Support and Payroll Specialist to ensure the following are completed:
- New hire benefits enrollment.
- 401k distribution and employee changes.
- Annual benefits enrollment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Four (4) to six (6) years’ proven experience in Human Resources
- One (1) – two (2) years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing setting
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail. Precision is critical in this role due to processing payroll and reviewing all information processed to avoid costly errors that could leave to compliance issues or employee dissatisfaction
- Understanding relevant laws and regulations regarding benefits, payroll, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with managers and employees.
- Proficient in payroll software, specifically ADP
- Proficiency in understanding general ledger postings and account information
- PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, certification a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Required Physical Abilities:
- Seated desk work
- Operate standard office equipment and keyboards
- On occasion lifting up to 25 lbs
- Occasional walking to the copier room or warehouse as needed for daily tasks
Work Environment:
- This position is on-site, working Monday – Friday from 8AM – 5PM.
