Job DescriptionOur client in the Pittsburgh Area is seeking a Tooling Manager to join the team
Duties:
*Ensure all tooling operations are performed in a safe, controlled environment.
*Lead and manage engineers, supervisors, and hourly staff by setting clear expectations, managing performance, and providing training and resources.
*Provide technical leadership for tooling troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of repeat tool and equipment failures.
*Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to support tooling and shop equipment reliability.
*Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure tooling quality, tolerances, and continuous improvement.
*Manage tooling projects from concept through site acceptance, including scope definition, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, and documentation.
*Communicate project status, expectations, and issues to team members and stakeholders; lead meetings and shop floor reviews to verify progress.
*Develop and maintain supplier relationships to support tooling performance, cost control, and project success.
*Take full ownership of assigned projects and special initiatives, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Requirements:
*A bachelor"s degree in a technical or business field, or a combination of education, skills, and experience, is required.
*At least five years of hands-on experience in tool and die manufacturing, extrusion tooling, or a closely related industry is preferred.
*Knowledge of machine shop order of operations and manufacturing processes is essential.
*Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
*Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Teams, AutoCAD, and Inventor software.
*Strong leadership capabilities are highly valued.
