Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support for students in resource room and self-contained classroom settings for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time, onsite position is based in the Grand Blanc, MI area, with consideration also given to candidates in Lansing and Detroit. The role begins approximately ASAP and runs through June 12, 2026.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of up to 22 students, primarily in self-contained classrooms, across early learning (pre-K) through K-12 levels
  • Delivering individualized instruction tailored to students diverse learning needs, focusing on learning disabilities and emotional or cognitive impairments
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to support student growth in accordance with Michigans Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations
  • Participating in assessment and planning to address urban student challenges and resource accessibility

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Michigan Teacher Certificate with a Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement is required
  • Preferred endorsements include Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Early Childhood Special Education (MDE endorsement ZA) plus one additional special education endorsement
  • Familiarity with urban education settings and sensitivity to unique challenges faced by this student population
  • Understanding of MARSE guidelines and IDEA compliance for special education practice
  • Ability to manage full-time hours (35 hours per week) in an onsite urban school environment
