Pay: 90-110k base with 10-15% bonus, depending on scope and exp. + comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, paid holidays, and professional-development support.

JOB SUMMARY:

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role within the accounting team, supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records. This position owns a broad range of accounting responsibilities across month-end close, taxes, payroll, fixed assets, leases, and general ledger activity, while also serving as a mentor and backup leader within the team.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and support the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Review and maintain fixed assets, ensuring accurate depreciation and amortization
  • Review and account for leases in accordance with ASC 842, including pre-execution review
  • Perform hands-on accounting operations across core accounting functions
  • Serve as a backup and supervisory resource for Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Expense Reports, and Purchasing Card administration
  • Review general ledger transactions and account detail to ensure accurate financial statement presentation
  • Manage and oversee tax compliance, including corporate, sales & use, and employer-related taxes
  • Coordinate and support year-end audit and tax return preparation
  • Process bi-weekly payroll through a third-party provider
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff
  • Analyze issues, identify trends, and escalate findings or recommendations to management
  • Support the Controller with ad hoc projects and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close
  • CPA a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus
  • Experience with tax filings and payroll strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP) and Pivot Tables; Power BI experience a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with interest in leveraging technology to automate and improve processes
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask questions or raise risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
