Care for complex post-operative patients transitioning from PACU/SICU while using strong telemetry skills and confident clinical judgment.\n Located in Boston, MA 02118, you’ll be near the South End’s restaurants and brownstone-lined streets, with quick access to Back Bay shopping, the Emerald Necklace parks, and convenient public transit for exploring the city on days off.\n

- Typical Ratios: 1:3–1:4 (may be 1:4–1:5 for lower-acuity/Med-Surg overflow)\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements\n
- \n
- Experience: 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience\n
- Required: Recent surgical stepdown experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center\n
- Required: IMCU/Stepdown experience (intermediate care)\n
- Telemetry: Must independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips\n
- Travel: More than 1 previous travel assignment required\n
- Licensure/Certifications: RN and ACLS\n
- Skills: Comfortable with automated medication dispensing systems\n
- Assessments: Telemetry test and critical-care medication test on Day 1\n
- Preferred: Experience in a tertiary care facility\n
\n\nCardiac Stepdown / IMCU RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Provide intermediate-level nursing care for post-operative patients transitioning from PACU/SICU to the IMCU/stepdown setting\n
- Manage complex surgical populations including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients\n
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry; identify rhythm changes, intervene per protocol, and escalate appropriately\n
- Administer medications safely (including cardiac and critical-care medications) and follow unit policies and procedures\n
- Perform focused assessments, respond to changes in condition, and coordinate rapid interventions when needed\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe progression of care, patient education, and discharge planning\n
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold patient safety, quality, and compliance standards\n
