Role: Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX
Compensation: $130,000 + Health Insurance Benefits + 401(k)
Our client, a leading commercial general contractor in Austin, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex commercial construction projects, including ground-up development, build-outs, and institutional work. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-profile projects and make a significant impact in Austin’s thriving construction market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion, including ground-up, interior build-outs, institutional/higher-education, and hospitality projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, design/engineering teams, and internal staff to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, track milestones, manage budgets, and oversee change orders and documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects/engineers, and internal stakeholders, providing updates and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and contractual requirements, proactively mitigating risks and resolving issues.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction (high-end interiors, ground-up commercial, institutional projects).
- Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams effectively.
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost management, and contract administration.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and standard project documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
