Worksite Location: Bloomington, MN
Compensation: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
What the Payment Processing Center Accountant will do:
- Process and post debtor payments while ensuring accuracy in payment batches and deposits
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including postdated checks, closed accounts, and unidentified payments
- Ensure the accuracy of bank deposits and facilitate fund transfers to client accounts
- Compile and distribute daily collection reports for internal management and clients
- Issue checks for client bank accounts and account refunds as needed
- Generate and deliver accurate client remittance statements and supporting documentation
- Verify fund availability and process payments via check, wire transfer, or ACH
- Import fee remittances to generate daily accounts receivable entries in accounting software
- Review, resolve, and document issues related to scanned remittance items
- Balance end-of-day reporting and post financial data into systems
- Assist with training new Payment Processing Center Accountants
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to company security, privacy, and risk management policies
What you’ll bring to the Payment Processing Center Accountant role:
- High school diploma required; A.A. degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred
- 2+ years of accounting-related experience
- Strong problem-solving skills with an understanding of financial impact
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail, initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) and 10-key data entry
- Familiarity with bank website tools (reports, images, ACH transactions)
