Location: Cape Girardeau, MO
Pay Range: $16.38 - 19.99/hour
Pay Range for 'non-floating' BHT is $16.38 - 18.78/hour; Pay Range for Floating BHT is $17.59 - 19.99/hour due to flexibility needs.
Community Counseling Center offer's shift differentials for BHT staff who work an Evening or Overnight shift at its residential facilities.
Evening Shift: + $0.50/hour per hour worked on Evenings.
Overnight Shift: +$1.00/hour per hour worked on Overnights
Shifts Available:
- Full Time, Evening: Saturday/Sunday: 11:00 am - 11:00 pm; Monday/Wednesday: 2:00 pm -10:00 pm
- Full Time, Overnight: 10:30p-8:30a with every other weekend off
- PRN - As needed, typically 1 shift/week - As needed, typically 1 shift/week -Any available shift, day/evening/overnight. Subject to program need and candidate schedule.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED/HSE required.
- Preference will be given to those with at least two years' experience in Healthcare or Mental Health field or with an undergraduate degree.
- Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation.
Note: The Class E is just a written required computer test. No Driving Test has to be taken for the Class E. Then you would go to the DMV after the test is taken (passed) and transfer the license over to that Class E.

The Ridgeway Program
Ridgeway is a ten bed, all female, Intensive Residential Treatment Service (IRTS) that provides a high level of direct service and supports for individuals living with chronic mental health diagnoses (i.e., anxiety, bi-polar, depression, personality disorders, etc.) that often involve severe behavioral and emotional issues resulting in guardianship.
Due to the program's population, and being an all female facility, it is a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) that only female employees are allowed to work within the Ridgeway Program.
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of adult clients in a residential behavioral health setting. This position involves supporting clients with daily living skills, engaging in therapeutic and recreational group activities, and responding to behavioral health crises when needed. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, the ability to model healthy behaviors, and a commitment to client-centered, recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
As part of your daily work, you will:

Ensure a safe, trauma-informed environment that promotes comfort and healing

Support daily living and self-care skills, including hygiene, medication routines, and household tasks

Teach critical life skills like emotional regulation, social skills, relaxation techniques, and coping strategies

Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure care is coordinated and client-centered

Accurately document observations and interventions according to clinical, agency, and regulatory standards

Conduct routine checks (rooms, belongings, and grounds) to maintain safety

Transport clients to appointments, activities, or outings as needed
-
Respond to crises, including behavioral interventions and emergency procedures

Distribute and track medications following agency protocols and reporting any discrepancies immediately
