Instructional Aide Subs Per Diem Opportunities in Antioch, CA
Dedicated support professionals are needed to serve as Instructional Aide substitutes within public schools in Antioch, CA. This per diem role offers the flexibility to choose assignments while providing essential academic, behavioral, and social assistance to students in classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support as directed by teachers and school staff
- Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
- Implement behavior support plans and adhere to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
- Support student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to pass a TB test and meet any additional district health requirements
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
- Required background clearances current or willingness to obtain prior to starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or childcare preferred
- Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus
- Training or certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT, or RBT desirable but not required
- Reliable, patient, and collaborative team player attitude
