Job Title: Mental Health Therapist / Counselor
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Setting: Long-Term Residential Facility
Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000 annually

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our clinical team at a long-term residential treatment facility. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality therapeutic services to individuals struggling with mental health challenges and co-occurring disorders. This role plays a vital part in supporting residents’ recovery, personal growth, and long-term stability through evidence-based interventions and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team and clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, risk evaluations, and ongoing progress reviews.
  • Document all client interactions, treatment notes, and case updates in compliance with agency and state regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide clinical input regarding client care and discharge planning.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts and maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Maintain compliance with licensing, confidentiality, and clinical documentation requirements.
  • Provide psychoeducation on mental health, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field required.
  • Active registration or licensure in Michigan (supervision available for Associates).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders (residential or inpatient setting preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
