YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Audio Video Engineer is responsible for providing technical engineering information and assistance to the Senior Engineer to ensure that project complies with the project requirements and all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. The position would be considered a lead design role for a small design group and would be able to lead several small-to-medium sized projects or a single, significant project.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Oversee designers and CAD staff assigned to your work or team of 2-5 people.

  • Review, comment and process equipment and system submittals.

  • Generate project specifications appropriate for the project.

  • Develop complete and accurate sequence of operations for all designed systems.

  • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.

  • Perform coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process and all electrical trades.

  • Prepare designs for multiple systems.

  • Possess the ability to work within fluid, dynamic situations with tight deadlines.

  • Must have the ability to interface professionally and courteously with customers, both internal and external.

  • Prepare systems single line diagrams, to include conduit and backbone cabling requirements.

  • Coordinate work with the project Specifications or equipment buy-out.

  • Check work for accuracy before passing on to others.

  • Conduct value engineering functions.

  • Attend project design team meetings. Interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and mechanical contractor/engineer.

  • Work closely with the Rosendin Operations Project Manager to coordinate the design criteria with budgetary issues.

  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.

  • Oversee Design Team during the construction in order to assure the operations team is provided proper and timely information for installation. This will include attendance at Owner and Contractor meetings.

  • The duties and responsibilities describe this position's general nature and scope of work. This is a partial listing, and other responsibilities will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering or related field

  • AVIXA CTS-I and CTS-D required

  • Various levels of Crestron, Extron and/or QSC certifications preferred

  • A general understanding of system programming, such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp and QSC

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Audio Video Systems Engineer is required

  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of Audio Video systems engineering is a must including but not limited to audio/audio distribution/DSP systems, video and video distribution, control systems, digital signage, projection systems, and more

  • Working knowledge and experience with key manufacturer products such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Middle Atlantic, Shure, QSC, Draper, Da-Lite, Epson, Panasonic, Blackmagic, and more

  • Fluency with the state and national building code and regulations.

  • Document and archive work pursuant to Company standards

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 25% (Does not include local field visits)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Pay Range

$83,200.00-$109,200.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate's pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
