Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Director
Location: ON-SITE - Owensboro, KY/Evansville, IN
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full life cycle of recruiting activities for hourly, skilled trade, and salaried roles across the manufacturing site(s). This includes sourcing candidates, conducting cold calls, coordinating job fairs, managing job postings, and engaging in candidate outreach. In addition to recruiting, this role supports general HR operations as needed, including onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for production, skilled labor, technical, and administrative corporate roles.
  • Proactively source candidates through online platforms, cold calling, community outreach, social media, and job boards.
  • Draft and post job openings on internal and external job sites, local boards, and partner networks.
  • Attend and coordinate job fairs, hiring events, and workforce development programs to build a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Screen resumes and applications, conduct phone interviews, and schedule in-person interviews with hiring managers.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure accurate and timely updates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build relationships with local schools, technical colleges, veteran organizations, and community agencies to support recruiting efforts.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, applicant flow, and source effectiveness.

General HR Support:

  • Assist with onboarding new hires, including preparing offer letters, scheduling orientations, and collecting required documentation.
  • Support communication of HR policies and benefits information to new and current employees.
  • Help maintain accurate employee records and support compliance-related documentation (e.g., I-9s, EEO reporting).
  • Partner with HR colleagues and hiring managers to ensure a positive and consistent candidate and employee experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 4+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to source candidates creatively through cold calls, outreach, and networking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable speaking with candidates and employees at all levels.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Preferred Attributes:

  • Energetic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment.
  • Familiarity with labor compliance in recruiting and hiring (e.g., EEO, OFCCP, FCRA).
  • Willingness to travel locally for job fairs and community outreach events.
