Materials Manager | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Oversee all aspects of material planning, procurement, and scheduling to support production requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance for timely and cost-effective material delivery.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems for accurate material forecasting, planning, and tracking.
- Lead and develop the materials team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure material availability and quality standards are met.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to material acquisition, storage, and handling.
Recommended Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for inventory management and production planning.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing a materials or supply chain team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on inventory optimization and cost reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with global supply chain management.
