Job Objective:
To support the dentist in delivering high-quality, efficient dental care by preparing the clinical environment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist through four-handed dentistry, passing instruments and materials during procedures and managing suction.
- Clinical Preparation: Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to OSHA regulations and set up treatment trays for specific procedures.
- Patient Care: Greet and seat patients, review medical histories, and provide post-operative instructions.
- Radiology: Take and process dental X-rays (radiographs) under the supervision of the dentist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor clinical supply levels and assist in ordering replacements to prevent workflow disruptions.
- Maintenance: Clean and disinfect operatory rooms between patient appointments and perform basic equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
- Certification or Diploma from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
- Knowledge of dental hygiene, sterilization protocols, and bioseguridad.
- Strong communication skills and an empathetic bedside manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
