A 600+ bed acute care regional medical center in Savannah is seeking an RN Manager to lead its Mother Baby unit. This major referral hospital serves 35 counties across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina and is home to the region’s only Level I trauma center and affiliated children’s hospital.

This leadership position reports to the Director of Women’s Services and oversees a team of approximately 29.5 full-time equivalents, including registered nurses, unit secretaries, and nursing assistants. The unit consists of 22 beds with an average daily census of around 15 patients.

The RN Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, staffing, and operational direction of the Mother Baby unit. In collaboration with departmental leadership, this role helps establish and maintain clinical policies and procedures that support safe, high-quality postpartum care. A strong emphasis is placed on supporting a seasoned nursing team while maintaining consistent standards of care and fostering a stable, collaborative work environment.

Key responsibilities include daily operational oversight, staff scheduling, performance management, and ensuring alignment with quality and patient care goals. The role also involves ongoing development of unit processes and supporting leadership initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and clinical outcomes in postpartum care.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact/multi-state RN license required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 60 months of hire if not currently held

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care Women’s Services experience required

  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required

  • Strong, demonstrated experience in Mother/Baby and Postpartum care required

Schedule:
