Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring patient health and measuring vital signs.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
- Assisting the healthcare team with administering treatments.
- Collecting liquid samples or specimens for testing.
- Performing basic procedures such as minor wound care, accu checks, ekg’s (as directed by nursing)
- Reporting any changes in patients' conditions to a registered nurse or physician.
- Timely safety rounds on all patients during the shift and documented.
- Maintaining close communication with the patient's healthcare team.
- Assisting with medical or behavioral emergencies
- Inspect the facility and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.)
- Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service.
- Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- PCT/CNA certification.
- Experience working in patient care for 2 years minimum, behavioral health preferred.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of patient care practice, methods, and Illinois regulations.
- Strong patient relation skills with therapeutic communication
- Patience and compassion with all patients and staff
