Warehouse Production Supervisor

Pay Range: $20.23 – $25.29

JOB SUMMARY:

With a general awareness of all safety guidelines, oversees the baling operation located at Central Avenue. This includes achieving daily production goals, oversight of all production personnel, making sure all equipment is adequately maintained and insuring that the production area is staffed to achieved the production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Achieves production goals by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, reviewing production and job results

• Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff while enforcing all company policies and procedures in collaboration with the Operations Manager

• Maintains a clean effective production area

• Maintains work flow by insuring the materials required to achieve the goals are readily available for the production team. Must collaborate with the yard supervisor to insure this flow of goods is constantly achieved

• Builds production plan and staff schedules to insure the productions goals are met

• Maintains a PM (preventive maintenance) schedule for equipment to avoid unnecessary down time and avoid costly repairs

• Reports daily production results to the Operations Manager. If goals are missed then must present a plan to make up any shortfall.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Staff supervisory experience preferred

• Minimum of 1 year related experience in a production role preferred

• Preferred experience in both an in line and vertical baling operation

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:

• Oversight of production personnel

• Direct supervision of up to 12 - 15 employees.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• A current valid and unrestricted driver’s license is preferred

• Active forklift operator’s certification required or ability to become certified within

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy

Lifting up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. May be required to regularly stand, walk, reach with hands/arms with full range of motion, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push or pull. Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold, handle and feel objects, knobs, keys and/or buttons.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

None

Travel is defined as travel to all areas within Goodwill’s territory (Cecil, Harford, Baltimore, Howard, and Anne Arundel Counties, Baltimore City and the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland). In some cases, long-distance travel, including overnights may be required but is typically planned in advance. In some cases, travel may be unplanned.

High

Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, risk of electrical shock and/or vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
