Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines using CAD/CAM software.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding strategies for various materials.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect potential collisions and ensure correct tool paths.
  • Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and improve efficiency.
  • Support the introduction of new parts and processes, including first article inspection.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming and setup.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
  • Expertise in G-code and M-code programming, including manual editing and optimization.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, and machining principles.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience operating CNC mills or other machine tools.
  • Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for design modification or fixture design.
  • Experience with multi-axis (4/5-axis) programming.
  • Knowledge of DNC systems and post-processor optimization.
