CNC Mill Programmer | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines using CAD/CAM software.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding strategies for various materials.
- Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect potential collisions and ensure correct tool paths.
- Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and improve efficiency.
- Support the introduction of new parts and processes, including first article inspection.
Recommended Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming and setup.
- Proficiency with industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
- Expertise in G-code and M-code programming, including manual editing and optimization.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, and machining principles.
Bonus Qualifications
- Hands-on experience operating CNC mills or other machine tools.
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for design modification or fixture design.
- Experience with multi-axis (4/5-axis) programming.
- Knowledge of DNC systems and post-processor optimization.
