Design Coordinator (Custom Cabinets and Millwork)
Job Description
Job Description
Case1, Inc. is a custom cabinetry and millwork manufacturer serving the luxury residential market in Sacramento. We create highly detailed, one-of-a-kind projects including kitchens, closets, built-ins, garages, and custom furniture. With a state-of-the-art CNC-based shop and a dedicated team, we deliver precision craftsmanship with an emphasis on design excellence and execution.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with an interior design background who thrives on the technical side of the work — drawing, detailing, and coordinating. You’ll help translate design intent into clear, buildable shop drawings while managing details that ensure projects flow smoothly from concept through production.
This is not a sales or interior design role. Instead, it’s a detail-driven position where your technical eye, organizational skills, and design knowledge come together to bring complex projects to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine 2D/3D drawings for cabinetry, millwork, and custom furniture using our manufacturing CAD based software.
- Translate interior design and architectural concepts into accurate shop drawings.
- Coordinate details between designers, architects, clients, and our engineering/shop teams.
- Apply knowledge of design trends to provide input when appropriate, while keeping production requirements in mind.
- Assist with material and hardware selections that balance design intent and functionality.
- Track drawing deadlines and ensure accurate documentation at each project milestone.
- Support project managers with communication, documentation, and technical details.
Qualifications
- Background in interior design, architecture, or related field with strong technical/drafting skills.
- Proficiency in CAD/drafting software (Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, or furniture construction methods.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- 2+ years of relevant experience preferred, but motivated candidates with the right foundation will be considered.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a high-end, detail-driven company where quality is everything.
- Work on luxury residential projects that are custom, challenging, and rewarding.
- Collaborate with a skilled team that values both design intent and technical excellence.
- Opportunities to grow your career as we continue to expand.
