Join a dynamic nursing team in Winston-Salem, NC, supporting patient care on a busy Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit within a Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center. This contract position offers an engaging clinical environment working with adult patients experiencing a range of diagnoses including cardiac conditions, pneumonia, UTIs, chest pain, and fluid overload.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care on a MedSurg/Telemetry unit averaging 8 patients daily with an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage telemetry monitoring.
• Administer and monitor infusion therapies such as Cardizem and Amiodarone gtts (training provided if needed).
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7.
• Utilize Epic EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing technology.
• Participate in departmental orientation including a new employee orientation and unit-specific training.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid RN licensure with at least 1 year of MedSurg nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification is a plus.
• Comfort with telemetry, surgical drains, PCA management, and wound care.
• Ability to float to other adult units as needed based on competencies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced academic hospital setting.
