Job Summary
The Technical Writer will assist Quality/Production Management with the creation and maintenance of production work instructions. To Include:
- Create work instructions for assembly processes of circuit boards, industrial machinery operation and maintenance, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure).
- Timely and accurate writing of Work Instructions for operations where they are needed; this includes taking and cropping pictures, sketches, and schematics, when applicable.
- Edit and upkeep existing documentation with revised information as required.
- Maintain bank of Controlled documentation on a digital database and physically on the production floor.
- Communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization to facilitate positive change/improvement to processes used to produce Parts to Customer and in some cases regulatory requirements.
- The Technical Writer standardizes the performance of processes through development of accurate Work Instruction that can be understood and followed by all layers of the Zentech organization.
- Another requirement of this job is balancing or prioritizing the updating of documents and work instructions in coordination with manufacturing schedules.
- Incorporate “Red Line” documents into final document form within 90 days from time of notification.
- Maintain the Tech Writer’s (excel) task list to monitor for above.
- Provide training and encouragement to those that are new to Zentech, or areas within the company.
- Work closely with the NPI Team to understand customer documentation (assembly drawings/blueprints and Bills of Material) and to incorporate requirements and criteria into concise assembly work instructions.
- Work with members of production on the floor to document processes in real time by taking pictures and noting further details of assembly procedures for implementation into work instructions.
Minimum Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Associates Degree or comparable work experience
- Technical writing background
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of digital image capture and graphical editing
- Able to sit or stand for long periods
- Detail oriented
- Team player
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety and ESD equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, ESD smocks and heel straps. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
