Job Summary
This position serves as a Senior Weapons Specialist, for PMA-201 Effects Deployment Office (FXDO), located at NAS Patuxent River, MD, capable of leading weapon-to-aircraft integration efforts and associated meetings, including testing coordination and troubleshooting efforts, and frequent briefings to Program Office leadership as well as support and coordination to all multi-service platform Program Offices employing the associated long-range strike weapons.
The position will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME), warfare analysis, mission integration, Modeling & Simulation (M&S) support and architecture assessments, acquisition analysis/support, and analytic program support to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force.
Applicants should possess a broad spectrum of knowledge of Navy and Air Force aviation platforms with regard to weapon integration efforts as well as mission planning systems/techniques to ensure a seamless transition to operational capability. The ability to team with a diverse set of current and new customers, as well as fostering synergistic relationships, is crucial for success in this role.
Overview
Provides subject matter expertise on weapons, warfighting concepts, and technology development U.S. Navy and Air Force requirements, planning, and acquisition decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Program Manager and Requirements Officer with the management of the Capabilities Development Document (CDD) and other applicable acquisition documents.
- Assist the Program Manager with the development of key budgetary, programmatic, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate USN fleet training activities for developmental air-to-air weapons.
- Plan, organize, and execute Naval Aviation Requirements Group (NARG) and Operator Advisory Group (OAG) events.
- Represent the program office at various Joint working groups. Provide technical expertise on weapons program. Provide written and verbal reports to weapons developers on potential changes to weapons systems to enable maximum combat effectiveness.
- Represent program office at fleet focused virtual training and tactics development events. Utilize observations to make recommendations to system developers.
- Review draft aircrew publications. Provide inputs to technical writers
Required Qualifications
- Recent U.S. Navy TACAIR (F/A-18E/F/G or F-35) operational experience
- Knowledge of DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) processes
- 4-year bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
- Active Top Secret Clearance: SAP/SCI Eligible
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting joint weapon programs/platform acquisition program office
- Graduate of Fighter Weapons School or Test Pilot School
- Experience as an OPNAV Requirements Officer or Joint Staff
- Technical Degree, PMP, MBA, or other advanced degree
