Position Purpose
The claims manager oversees the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely, fair, and compliant resolution of claims. This role involves optimizing workflows and maintaining strong relationships with insurance professionals, brokers, operators and other stakeholders. Supervision of property and general liability claims for the US Operator approved Insurance programs, ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and in accordance with program guidelines.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
- Support the VP – Claims Management with all claims adjusting activities of the approved insurance programs.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operators, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Implement procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of claims intake.
- Review and analyze claims to ensure they are valid and that the settlement/resolution is fair.
- Coordinate with TPAs and Operators to provide guidance and direction on claims handling.
- Establish and implement best in class claims handling and resolution strategies.
- Monitor and manage claims reserves and expenses.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Approve claim settlements within authorization limits.
- Participate in TPA audits and claim reviews.
- Analyze claims data and identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Prepare reports on claim performance metrics and operational efficiency.
- Support claims initiatives and projects as assigned.
- Subrogation management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance or related field
- 15+ years of experience in claims management, with at least 5 years in litigation management
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies and claim processes
- Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with dedicated program management
