Job Opportunity: Compounding Pharmacy Sales Representative

Shrivers Pharmacy – Crooksville Compounding Lab

Serving Southeastern Ohio with Personalized Care Since 1978

With expertise in men’s and women’s health, pain management, podiatry, sports medicine, dermatology, and veterinary prescriptions, we use only FDA-inspected chemicals and precision equipment (e.g., ointment mills, electronic mortars and pestles, capsule machines) to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that manufactured drugs often can’t match. Join a team committed to community health, local partnerships, and exceptional service. As part of the HealthMart network, we combine the personalized touch of an independent pharmacy with reliable access to innovative compounding, helping physicians address unique patient challenges like allergies, dosage preferences, or discontinued medications.

Position Overview:

The Compounding Pharmacy Sales Representative will focus on educating and partnering with

physicians, clinics, and healthcare providers in southeastern Ohio to drive referrals and

adoption of our compounding services. This field-based role involves detailed outreach to

highlight how our Crooksville lab can create customized medications that improve patient

outcomes, compliance, and satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder with

healthcare sales experience, eager to position Shrivers as the go-to compounding partner for

specialized care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prospect local physicians (e.g., endocrinologists, dermatologists, pain

specialists, podiatrists, and veterinarians) through targeted outreach, networking

events, and referrals to introduce our compounding capabilities.

  • Conduct in-depth educational sessions, demos, and consultations with healthcare

providers, explaining the benefits of custom compounding—such as allergen-free

formulations, flavored options for pediatrics, flavored veterinary meds, or precise BHRT

dosing—while addressing regulatory compliance (e.g., Ohio Board of Pharmacy

standards).

  • Collaborate with our compounding pharmacists to develop tailored proposals, samples,

and case studies demonstrating real-world applications, like pain creams for sports

medicine or libido-supporting therapies for women’s health.

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with physicians by providing ongoing support,

including quick-turnaround custom orders, physician portal access for prescriptions, and

follow-up on patient feedback to refine services.

  • Track sales activities, referral pipelines, and conversion metrics using CRM tools; report

on quarterly goals for new physician accounts and compounding revenue growth.

  • Represent Shrivers at medical conferences, grand rounds, and local health fairs to

showcase our lab’s precision equipment and specialties, generating leads and enhancing brand visibility.

  • Stay current on compounding trends, FDA guidelines, and competitor offerings to refine

pitches and ensure all promotions align with ethical sales practices.

  • Coordinate with internal teams for seamless order fulfillment, including free local

delivery and integration with our broader pharmacy services like immunizations and

home medical equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or a

related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or healthcare

services; prior exposure to compounding, hormone therapy, or physician outreach is a

strong plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of compounding pharmacy principles, including sterile/non-sterile

processes, dosage customization, and specialties like BHRT, pain management, or

veterinary compounding.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate

technical compounding details into compelling, physician-focused value propositions.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and telehealth/physician

engagement tools; familiarity with CoverMyMeds or similar for prior authorizations is

beneficial.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for regional travel (primarily within a 100-mile

radius of Crooksville, OH).

  • Self-motivated with a consultative sales mindset, comfortable with 50-60% field time, including occasional evenings for physician dinners or events.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $65,000 plus uncapped commission

potential.

  • Transportation: Company vehicle and fuel provided for business use.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company
  • match; paid time off; and professional development (e.g., compounding certification

reimbursements).

  • Supportive Culture: Work in a collaborative, family-oriented environment with access to

our full pharmacy network for resources and cross-training. Flexible hours promote

work-life balance.

  • Impactful Role: Contribute to better patient care by empowering physicians with

custom solutions, while advancing within our growing compounding and specialty

divisions.

  • Community Focus: Enjoy perks like employee discounts on retail products and

participation in local events, aligning with our commitment to southeastern Ohio.

Location: Based out of Crooksville, OH (120 S. Buckeye St.), with field travel required. This is a full-time role reporting to the Compounding Lab Director.
