We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with developmental disabilities, as well as a background in nursing home settings or hospice care. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Help with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to clients' dietary needs.
• Assist clients in mobility and transferring, including lifting when necessary.
• Monitor clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
• Engage clients in activities that promote mental and physical stimulation, particularly for those with dementia care needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams.

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of CPR and basic first aid techniques is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to cook healthy meals and assist with meal preparation based on client preferences.
• Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others in need of care.
• Experience in nursing home or hospice care settings is a plus.
• Patience and understanding when working with clients experiencing cognitive challenges such as dementia.
