Job Summary: The screen-printing catcher plays a vital role in maintaining quality control during the screen-printing process. They are responsible for inspecting, sorting, and ensuring the accuracy of printed items. The QC, aka Catcher, works closely with the screen-printing press operators and production team to ensure that the final printed products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect Printed Items: Thoroughly examine each printed item, such as t-shirts, apparel, or promotional items, to ensure they meet quality standards, including print accuracy, color vibrancy, registration, and overall print quality.
- Sorting and Packaging: Sort the printed items based on specific criteria, such as size, color, design, or customer requirements. Package the items neatly and efficiently for further processing or shipment.
- Quality Control: Monitor the screen-printing process to identify any potential issues, such as smudging, blurring, or color inconsistencies. Notify the press operator or supervisor of any problems and assist in resolving them.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspected and rejected items, including the reasons for rejection. Communicate this information to the appropriate personnel for further action or correction.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in cleaning and maintaining the screen-printing equipment, such as screens, squeegees, and drying racks, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the screen-printing press operators, production team, and quality control staff to ensure effective communication and a smooth workflow.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any potential safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.

- High attention to detail and a keen eye for quality control
- Familiarity with screen printing processes, techniques, and equipment
- Good color perception and ability to differentiate subtle color variations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy boxes or materials.
- Prior experience in screen printing or a related field is preferred but not always required.
