LCMS Lead Scientist
Job Description
As an LC-MS Lead Scientist, you will oversee studies, ensuring that methods are ready, validated, executed, and documented to meet regulatory requirements. You will not work in the lab but will review data, act as the primary scientific point of contact, and coach team members while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee bioanalytical study work of moderate complexity.
- Sign off on reports and review/approve raw data.
- Act as the primary scientific point of contact for studies.
- Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide scientific guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Ensure methods meet regulatory requirements and are documented appropriately.
- Engage with regulators for clinical or pre-clinical studies.
Essential Skills
- B.S. or Masters in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.).
- 2-5 years of experience working on LCMS.
- Experience as a BioA Lead Scientist/Responsible Scientist/Principle Investigator in the Bioanalytical sector.
- Proven data review/approval skills and method validation readiness.
- Experience with Sciex Mass Spec and other analysis software.
- Familiarity with GLP or GCP regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Nautilus and Analyst software.
- Knowledge of ICH or 28BMV regulatory guidance protocols.
- Familiarity with FDA internal standards.
- Small molecule experience in a BioA CRO regulated space.
Work Environment
The role operates within a lab setting in the Bioanalytical team, which consists of around 100 employees, primarily lab-focused. The position is hybrid, requiring local residence with 2-3 days onsite per week. The team is expanding due to increased workload, with current team size at 16 and aiming for 18 in Madison. Travel is infrequent, with a maximum of 10% for potential client visits or conferences.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
