Scope and Purpose:

We are seeking an International Operations Generalist for our growing International team. This role will work directly with internal departments and act as a liaison between clients and agents. The International Operations Generalist will be responsible for processing insurance applications and servicing clients and agents for in-force business, as well as assisting to develop and test new workflows. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent service to resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new business applications and assist with servicing in force business.
  • Determine, based on acceptable criteria, completion and accuracy or information received, on a case by case basis.
  • Search and report codes to the Medical Insurance Bureau.
  • Provide application status updates.
  • Communicate with underwriters and agents to ensure common understanding of pending requirements.
  • Service clients and agents with questions regarding pending and in force insurance or investment applications/policies.
  • Ensure premium payments are received and posted.
  • Remain current on products, procedural changes, and system modifications or enhancements.
  • Assist in designing and testing system enhancements; communicate fixes and development items to developers.
  • Adapt to new situations and ability to remain proactive on duties.
  • Back up and support the international department on ad hoc requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or in a related field. Bilingual required, Spanish or Portuguese preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong bilingual verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Must be dependable and flexible.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in challenging situations.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision and errors.
  • Must be able to prioritize and discern when items must be escalated.
  • Have a knack for improving processes and procedures.
  • Experience with life insurance or investment products is beneficial.
  • Proficient technical skills using various programs and applications such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Webex, IBM AS400, AdminSeg, SharePoint, etc.

Travel Requirements:

This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
