Position Summary:
We are seeking a positive, upbeat, and reliable Sterilization Tech to join our Wall Township team.
The Sterilization Tech is an integral member of our dental team, providing essential support for our practice. Responsibilities:
- Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, and disinfects instruments and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all safety and infection control guidelines during the sterilization process.
- Maintains accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Conducts routine inspections of sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintains the functions of the instrument processing area/department, ensuring all sterilization protocols and infection control standards are met.
- Participates in ongoing training and education related to sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail with the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
- Has excellent organizational skills and can manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Works well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Manages dental lab support tasks, including receiving and sending lab cases.
- Assists with inventory management, ensuring supplies are well-stocked and organized.
- Participates in basic lab work, contributing to the overall efficiency of our practice.
- Present safety training and education sessions at staff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Federal and State regulations.
- Follow the annual risk management and safety plans to provide training opportunities to ensure compliance.
- Conduct monthly drills related to all codes at each location. Provide analysis, feedback, improvement needed and retrain/re-educate staff as needed.
- Present safety training and education sessions at staff meetings.
- Follow and implement as assigned the annual risk management and safety plans for required training.
Requirements:
- Sterilization experience required
- Proficiency in Oryx, a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
