Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 position is available for a teacher specializing in visual impairment education. This role involves working closely with a diverse group of 20-23 students, each with unique needs, to provide tailored instruction and support. The position is a contract-based opportunity for the current school year and requires onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) suited to each student's needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development
- Utilize adaptive teaching techniques and assistive technologies
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
- Proven experience teaching students with visual impairments is preferred
- Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum and specialized instructional methods
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite school environment
Location and Work Schedule:
- Position located in Fayetteville, North Carolina area
- Onsite work only with 37.5 hours per week expected
