The Lead Co-Worker Health Nurse plays a pivotal role in managing Co-Worker Health processes and protocols. This position involves close collaboration with Co-Worker Health leadership, staff, Workers’ Compensation, Infectious Disease, and various other departments within our organization. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details:Lead Co-Worker Health RN – Full Time – Location: St. Louis, MO

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily administrative and operational functions of the Co-Worker Health team.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards concerning clinical operations.
- Work with external resources to develop programs.
- Manage drug and alcohol screening processes as required.
- Collaborate with Co-Worker Health leaders, nurses, Medical Review Officers, and staff to uphold relevant policies and procedures.
- Disseminate updates on policies and procedures to other teams, including Infection Prevention and Workers’ Compensation.
- Ensure the Co-Worker Health team is equipped with current PPE and training.
- Represent Co-Worker Health on committees such as ICC, Nursing Governance, Disaster Planning, and Environment of Care.
- Lead educational initiatives for the Co-Worker Health team regarding immunizations, administration techniques, and potential side effects.
- Keep forms and documentation up to date.
- Act as a Co-Worker Health nurse when necessary to assist with new hire paperwork.
- Provide preventive health services to co-workers and volunteers, such as blood pressure checks and temperature screenings.
- Serve as a ReadySet Superuser/Trainer for the department.
- Manage inventory and supply orders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Workers’ Compensation Responsibilities:
- Support the Workers’ Compensation coordinator in synchronizing care related to co-worker exposures, including ordering prophylaxis under the Co-Worker Health Medical Director.
- Act as a subject matter expert representing our organization.
- Lead initiatives aimed at preventing workplace exposures.
- Serve as a liaison for Co-Worker Health.
Infectious Disease Responsibilities:
- Coordinate care for co-workers exposed to communicable diseases in partnership with Infection Control.
- Represent Co-Worker Health on infectious disease committees and task forces.
- Maintain communication with the Infectious Disease department to share trends and seek solutions to safeguard co-workers and patients.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from a state-approved nursing program.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
- Experience: Minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification/Registration: Three years of clinical experience and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Background in Emergency Room, Infectious Disease, Employee Health, or Workers’ Compensation is preferred.
- Skills: Familiarity with Epic and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
