Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time virtual opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 6-12 and 6-8 STEM at a virtual academy program. This role focuses on providing resource-level special education services in a fully virtual setting.
Location: Henderson, NC (Virtual role)
Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 11, 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week plus one additional hour for planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in resource settings
- Collaborate with virtual school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and educational team members
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and district regulations for special education
Qualifications:
- Current North Carolina Special Education teaching certification
- Experience teaching special education students, preferably in resource or STEM-focused programs
- Ability to manage a virtual caseload and utilize digital platform tools effectively
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality special education services in a virtual environment
