The South Charleston Sanitary Board is seeking a dependable, hardworking Skilled Laborer to join our construction and maintenance crew. This is a full-time position supporting the operation and maintenance of the municipal sewer system.

Position Overview

This role performs skilled labor in connection with the maintenance, repair, and construction of sewer system infrastructure. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Repairing and replacing sewer lines
• Pouring and finishing concrete
• Blacktop work and site restoration
• Landscaping and grounds restoration
• Operating dump trucks and other equipment
• Assisting with general construction and maintenance tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (Required)
• CDL preferred, but not required
• • Employees without a CDL must begin the process of obtaining one after the 90-day probationary period (CDL training costs covered by employer)
• Construction or utility experience preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

Compensation

• Pay is negotiable and based on experience
