Location: Howard University Hospital – Washington, DC
Role Summary
Howard University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse – Radiotherapy Services to join our Oncology team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy treatments and supportive oncology services. The Clinical Nurse ensures safe treatment delivery, patient education, symptom management, and coordination of care throughout the radiotherapy continuum.

What You’ll Do
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments
- Perform patient assessments before, during, and after treatment sessions
- Monitor and manage radiation-related side effects and symptoms
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, expectations, and self-care
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications and supportive therapies as prescribed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety activities
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience
- Oncology, infusion, or radiation therapy experience preferred
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification required

Pay + Schedule
Pay Range: $40.16 – $61.81 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
