Job Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT), home health, provides therapy services in patients’ homes, following physician orders and an individualized plan of care. The goal is to restore function, reduce disability, and help patients achieve productive living within their capabilities.
Salary: $110,000 to $120,000
Location: Bay City (77404, 77414) & Wharton (77488, 77453, 77448, 77436) areas
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations, develop treatment plans, and submit for physician approval.
- Deliver prescribed occupational therapy and skilled procedures.
- Instruct patients and families on home programs and fine motor exercises.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in patient care planning, case conferences, and in-service programs.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 2 years in home/community occupational therapy preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited OT program; must pass National Certification Exam.
- Licensed OT in the State of Texas.
- Skills: Strong communication, supervisory ability, initiative, and independent judgment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a busy environment.
Additional Details
- Reports to: Director of Nursing.
- Heavy interaction with patients, families, physicians, and third-party payers.
- Must maintain professional demeanor, adhere to dress code, and follow ethical standards.
- Required equipment may include stethoscope, BP cuffs, and therapy materials.
